Dear Parents and Students,
WELCOME BACK to class! I am hoping that everyone is doing very well at home in the midst of this global crisis. Please follow the safety protocols in place to ensure the safety of everyone in your household and in our community.
As we change the venue for our classes to the comforts of our homes, please be guided by the district directives on how to access your assignments and maximize the benefits of remote learning. We are all unprepared for this crisis. Remote Learning is new to all of us, hence, we will experience a lot of challenges as we transition to this kind of teaching-learning environment. I firmly believe that learning need not be confined in the four corners of the classroom. You can still learn and successfully earn the credits you so deserve virtually. I for one is enrolled in two virtual classes right now and have been studying online over the past several years. While this method of learning gives the student a lot of freedom, with freedom comes a lot of responsibility and accountability even to the simplest decision on "Do I do this?" or "Do I not do this?". If done in the right way and with serious commitment, you are bound to a successful finish of the second semester even amidst this pandemic. I congratulate you in advance. It is worth your time and effort.
Please check our class website on a daily basis. Announcements, changes, extra resources and materials like videos will all be uploaded in the AGENDA. As a class or a group, emails and text messages will be pushed via REMIND. Should there be a need to meet together through a video chat room, we can always meet via GOOGLE MEET or GOOGLE HANGOUT. Please check out daily for meeting schedules. Just as you are learning this entire learning platform, so am I. We will do this step by step. As we get used to this, it will be a breeze in the later part.
Lastly, I would like to keep the bar high. Distant learning requires of us a serious commitment and a diligent active participation. In this note, I expect quality work and a regular checking in with me, if at all possible.
Wishing you all the best as we come back to school virtually. Keep safe! Stay Home!
Sincerely,
Ms. Mendoza
